Insider's View Seminar Announcement

Welcome Back! Our first Insider's View seminar will be on January 26th @ 10am in MPAC. The seminar will provide you with general information regarding the semester and all important dates! Spread the word...this is an important one to be at! Please also note the change that there will be no seminar on January 19th at 6:30pm.

Other Showcase---January 22nd in MPAC (There will be 2 shows for the Other Showcase: 6:30pm and 8:30pm)
And the first ever, Urban Showcase on February 12th in MPAC @ 7pm

Writers' Showcase Series in Curb Cafe
Feb. 16th @ 6pm and 8pm
March 1st @ 6pm and 8pm

Tom Cavanaugh visits Insider's View

The last of the Fall '04 "Insider's View" seminars was a smashing success! Held at Belmont Heights Baptist Church, Tom Cavanaugh, Senior Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs for 20th Century Fox, gave us valuable insight to the ever changing music industry, particularly in terms of publishing and distribution. Yes, this seminar was one of the best of the year! Be sure to check the website for the announcement of the Spring '05 Insider's View Seminar Series! Belmont Far East

The Belmont Far East Program will kick off in May 2005. Students will spend 3 weeks in China taking a course on The Asian Music Industry. They will leave shortly after the Spring 2005 semester & return immediately prior to the Summer I Semester. The course will primarily take place in Hong Kong, but will also include trips to Beijing and Shanghai. Topics covered in the course will include similarities & differences between the Asian & American music industries, types of music popular in Asia, copyright law & piracy, and the influence of local culture on Asian music & the Asian music industry.
