With Belmont Going Green, we are calling all songwriters to write for the cause! With Earth Day approaching Belmont is hosting a song challenge and is looking for the best environmental, save the earth, going green song that Belmont has! Five songs will be selected by a panel of professional songwriters, Belmont faculty, and environmental gurus. So, start writing and inspire our community to GO GREEN!

Guidelines

Deadline: All materials must be submitted online by Saturday, March 28, 2009 @ 5:00pm deadline extended to April 3rd @ 5:00pm.

Eligibility/Requirements: Must be a full-time Belmont University student in either an undergraduate or graduate program.

Selection Process: Submitted songs will be judged by a panel of judges made up of professional songwriters, Belmont faculty, and environmental gurus--Songs will be judged on melody, lyrics, and environmental content.
The top 5 songs will be featured on the Belmont website.
The Belmont community will vote for their favorite song which will be featured with Belmont's Going Green initiative and the winner will be announced on April 15th.
The songwriter/songwriters who write the winning song will also win a $500.00 gift certificate** to the Apple Store.

Song Material: Content should be suitable for a general public audience. Panel reserves the right to disallow any material deemed offensive and inappropriate. Understand that violations of this guideline may result in disqualification.

**If multiple writers are on the song, the Apple gift certificate will be split equally between the writers.
