SOLID Scholars Program
SOLID is proud to announce the 2016 SOLID Scholars Program. This exciting program provides an opportunity for one Nashville area student studying to work in a music industry related field financial and personal support. The SOLID Scholars Program offers resources, encouragement, and inspiration far beyond the financial assistance needed to earn a college degree to those students who demonstrate exceptional character, leadership, and a commitment to serving their communities. Our goal is not only to help SOLID Scholars succeed, but to ensure that they thrive beyond their college years.
Each year SOLID awards a local student with a one thousand dollar scholarship to assist with the costs of tuition, room and board, books, and other educational expenses. In addition, SOLID pairs the award recipient with a music industry professional in a mentorship capacity to gain real world insight and guidance.
The SOLID Scholars Program is highly competitive. Each year, hundreds of local students go through a rigorous application and interview process. Past winners have been selected from Nashville area Universities including Vanderbilt, Belmont, Middle Tennessee State, Trevecca, and Lipscomb.
If you have students that may be a good fit please have them apply for the Scholarship. As part of the application, students are required to submit documents that will be used to verify their eligibility, such as an official transcript copy proving their GPA and a letter of recommendation from faculty. Applications and recommendations must be submitted by April 1st, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. CST.
