Chegg Social Media Contest to Bring Ed Sheeran to One College or High School Campus for a Live and In-Person Behind-the-Mic Music Session

Chegg, the Student Hub, today launched a social media contest to determine which American college or high school campus will have the opportunity to host Ed Sheeran for a one-of-a-kind, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“Ed is excited to share his love for music, learning, and the creative process with a select group of students,” said Louis Messina, Founder of The Messina Group. “Through Chegg’s network of 15 million high school and college students, this is a unique opportunity to connect, beyond the music, with a worldwide superstar who loves to engage his fans in new and innovative ways.”

Beginning today, high school and college students can vote for their school to win this on-campus experience from Mr. Sheeran, where he will take over a music class to share his experiences in the music industry, perform a live acoustic set, and explain the creative process behind his Grammy-nominated songs. Chegg will also award the winning school a $10,000 grant for their music department.

“We reach 15 million high school and college students on a regular basis. Usually it’s about learning, and studying, and applying for college and jobs,” said Mitch Spolan, EVP of Brand Partnerships at Chegg. “But everyone needs a study break, and for both students and brands, these are the types of experiences that only Chegg can deliver.”

Students attending high school or college in the contiguous 48 states can begin nominating their campus today. To do so, students simply visit music.chegg.com/edsheeran, log in via Facebook, and vote for their school. The school with the most student votes will win the visit from Mr. Sheeran. School voting is open today through February 13th, 2015 at 11:59PM PST. The classroom-takeover will take place in 2015.
