To: New Students
Technology Services will be out in full force today to support a smooth transition to campus. We will have staff assisting students moving into the residence halls until about 5pm today. To assist you in your move please note that every residence room has a door hanger with instructions on how to get support. Please go ahead and connect your computer using the black and orange jacks in your room.
Every student has a live ethernet jack to connect a computer. Remember that wireless internet is available just about everywhere on campus, except in the residence halls. We believe that a wired connection is more secure and you will receive better Internet service.
If you have a problem getting on the Internet please fill out a door hanger and place it on your room door. We have staff who will gathering these support hangers starting around 1pm today, and they will work to resolve your problem if at all possible today. In addition, we will be using these door hangers through next week as well to locate students who can not get connected today. Just fill it out and leave on your door today so that our staff can determine who needs assistance. Also, be sure to set up your voice mail in the room. While each room has a shared phone number, every student has a private electronic voicemail box.
TO SET UP VOICEMAIL:
# Dial 5400 and press the # key.
# Enter your voicemail box no.: 9999 as an example
