New Belmont ID Numbers to be Created; Check Addresses
On Dec. 26, 2007, Administrative Computing will be converting all Banner IDs from the social security number to a new randomly generated ID called the BUid. This is an effort to protect privacy, minimize the risk of fraud and comply with federal regulations.
Currently enrolled students will be receiving a letter the first week of December 2007 with important information about the new BUid. Residence hall students will receive this letter at their campus mailing address which is kept up to date through the university housing software. Commuter students will receive this letter at the mailing address designated in Banner. In preparation for this, commuter students need to review / update this address. This can be accomplished by 1) logging into your campus BIC account, 2) select BannerWeb, 3) select Personal Information, 4) select view addresses to review. If your mailing address needs to be updated, select update addresses. For the type of address to insert, click the drop down arrow and select mailing, then click submit and follow the instructions on the update page.
