The Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) is offering special discounts to Belmont students, faculty and staff for upcoming performances of The Color Purple. The Color Purple is the unforgettable and inspiring story of a woman named Celie, and her journey as she finds her unique voice in the world. For mature audiences. The discount offer is valid for the following performances: June 22 at 7:30 p.m., June 23 at 7:30 p.m., June 25 at 2 p.m. and June 26 at 6:30 p.m.

Special Discount Performances at TPAC for Les Misérables and Young Frankenstein
The Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) is offering special discounts to Belmont students, faculty and staff for upcoming performances of Les Misérables. Cameron Mackintosh presents a brand new 25th anniversary production of this legendary musical with glorious new staging and spectacular re-imagined scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo. Your special discounted performances are Wed., May 17 at 7:30 p.m., Thurs., May 18 at 7:30 p.m., Fri., May 19 at 7:30 p.m., and Sun., May 22 at 1 and 6:30 p.m.
Discounted tickets are also available to The New Mel Brooks Musical: Young Frankenstein. The classic Mel Brooks movie is ALIVE… and it’s headed to Nashville! You’ll have a monstrously good time at this spectacular new production. The Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) is offering special discounts to Belmont students, faculty and staff for upcoming performances of In the Heights. In the Heights is a musical about the importance of home, family and finding where you belong. Your special discounted performances are Wed., March 23 at 7:30 p.m., Thurs., March 24 at 7:30 p.m. and Sun., March 27 at 6:30 p.m.
Discounted tickets are also available to Cats. Winner of seven Tony Awards including Best Musical, Cats features 20 of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s timeless melodies, including the hit song, “Memory.” Your special discounted performances are Sat., April 2 at 2 p.m. and Sun., April 3 at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

LETTER FROM DR. FISHER

Dear Faculty and Staff,
This has been an intense week for Belmont University as our employment practices have become the focus of a great deal of community and media attention. As I said Wednesday night, I am truly saddened by the pain and fear that have resulted. With that in mind I want to take a moment to reiterate to you that sexual orientation is not considered in making hiring, promotion, salary, or dismissal decisions at Belmont. Sexual orientation is also not a consideration in student admissions.
While I cannot comment on individual personnel matters, I am committed to working with all of you as well as our students, alumni, board members and the community-at-large to dialogue about our policies and practices to ensure that our actions are consistent with our values and to ensure that our campus remains a welcoming place for all.
To that end, I have requested a meeting with the Faculty Senate leadership to further pursue dialogue. I welcome your comments and questions as we move forward.
In the meantime, I look forward to a strong finish to this semester culminating with our December graduation ceremony next Friday. I do see each of these students and the entire Belmont community as an extended family. I am grateful for the presence and dedication of each of you, and I wish you a very peaceful and meaningful Christmas season.
