PARADISE LOST
Joel Salatin, whose 550-acre farm is featured in The Omnivore's Dilemma and the movie Food, Inc., will address such questions as "Why do you have to eat three cucumbers today to get the same nutrients in just one back in 1940? Why have we all learned to say squiggly italicized Latin words like E.coli., camphylobacter, lysteria, and salmonella? For all our techno-glitzy advancements, we've given up some heavenly ground. Fortunately, we can marry the best of today's knowledge with the best of heritage wisdom to regain an economic, ecological, and emotional paradise."
