IN OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS

Belmont is a Christian community of learning and service that strives to support its members through prayer. The following concerns have come to our attention recently. Thank you for including them in your prayers:

College of Arts and Sciences alumnus Capt. Ronald G. Luce ('05) was killed Sunday in Afghanistan when the vehicle in which he was on patrol hit a wire attached to a homemade bomb. He was a Special Forces team leader. Luce, who received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Belmont, is survived by his parents, his daughter Carie and his wife, Kendahl, who graduated from the Curb College in 2006. Please keep the Luce family in your thoughts and prayers.

School of Music alumnus Alex Stevens (2000) was injured Saturday in the collapse of the stage at the Big Valley Jamboree, an outdoor music festival in Alberta, Canada. Stevens was on stage playing bass for country artist Billy Currington when the stage collapsed and required surgery to repair a severed artery and nerves in his left arm. Please keep Alex in your thoughts and prayers as he recovers.
