Belmont to Host Higher Education and Disability Conference March 27
The Office of the Dean of Students will be hosting the Tennessee Association on Higher Education and Disability (TN-AHEAD) annual conference at the Curb Event Center March 27. Melissa Smith, TN-AHEAD president and Belmont’s coordinator of disability services, will welcome keynote speaker Scott Lissner, ADA coordinator from The Ohio State University. Lissner serves on the Ohio Secretary of State’s ADA Advisory Board, is a liaison to the Ohio Governor’s Council on People with Disabilities and publishes and presents on current disability issues in the U.S. Lissner is scheduled to speak about the recent changes to the Americans with Disability Act (Policy and Practice Implications for Accommodating Students with Disabilities).
