IN OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS


Belmont is a Christian community of learning and service that strives to support its members through prayer. The following concerns have come to our attention recently. Thank you for including them in your prayers:

Please remember Belmont Trustee Helen Kennedy in your prayers in the Feb. 9 death of her husband of 44 years, Edward C. Kennedy. Ed Kennedy was a retired successful Nashville business man, the founder and former owner of Ed's Supply Company, a Nashville company in the refrigeration business. He also served on the Belmont Board of Trustees from 1973-1986. In addition, the Kennedys launched Belmont Mansion restoration efforts in 1971 with a financial gift to fund restoration of a mansion bedroom, and also led the effort to restore Freeman Hall in the early 1980s. Kennedy Hall, which opened in 2003, is named in the couple's honor. Funeral services were held yesterday at Judson Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Guardian Hospice, Belmont University or Judson Baptist Church.
