Erik Peterson will visit from the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington D.C. think tank. The SEVEN FUTURES project he'll speak about assesses the defining outlines of the world in the year 2025 by examining the "alternative futures" of seven key regions of the world.

In addition to being a prolific writer himself, Charles Darwin and his theory of evolution through natural selection changed literature in a number of dramatic ways. Along with discussing several individual texts in which “Darwin” makes an appearance, Dr. David Curtis will explain how everything from the Realist and Naturalist literary movements to popular literary forms owe their existence to Darwin.
