Japanese Noh Plays
Belmont will host a Japanese Noh Theatre performance by the internationally renowned Uratake traveling group from Japan. The primary actor in this group, Yasuhiro Urata, has been named an "Important Intangible Cultural Asset" by the country of Japan.

Ferdinand the Bull
This presentation, an annual collaborative performance between the Belmont School of Music and Nashville Ballet, is traditionally a newly composed and choreographed ballet, written by a Belmont School of Music composer and danced by Nashville Ballet. As part of the educational outreach of the ballet, this annual program is designed especially for children. Mario Dasilva has written a wonderful score for this performance.

Dr. Jeff Cornwall and Dr. Michael Naughton present the "Bringing Your Business to Life" lecture, which is open to the public. Click here to register. A reception will be held at 4:30 p.m. prior to the lecture. The following day, a workshop will be held from 7:30-11 a.m.

ASCAP Writer’s Night
The opening ASCAP Writer's Night of 2009 will feature student writers with a guest appearance by Combustion Music’s writer Ashley Gorley. This will not be Gorley’s first appearance at Belmont; Gorley is a 1999 Music Business alumnus and is also an adjunct professor at the university. Gorley has had his hand in some of country music’s greatest hits, such as Carrie Underwood’s, “Don’t Forget to Remember Me” and Trace Adkins’ “You’re Gonna Miss This.”

Art Performance and Opening Reception: Todd Williamson's "Blurring Lines"
Todd Williamson’s art jolts the mind and eye with horizontal lines that radiate blades of light. A Belmont alumnus, he returns to exhibit his new paintings and present an original art performance set to music that examines the question "What influences an artist to keep painting?"
