Belmont Basketball Select a Seat Night Oct. 21
The Belmont basketball team would like to extend a special invitation to all Faculty and Staff to attend the first annual Select a Seat Night this coming Tues., Oct. 21 in the Curb Event Center. This event will be the first opportunity to see the Bruins in action since the dramatic NCAA Tournament game against Duke. 104.5 The Zone will be broadcasting live from the Curb Event Center from 2-6 p.m. that day. The special event will begin at 6 p.m. and will include an introduction of the team, a short scrimmage and an autograph session. As a faculty or staff member, we would like to remind you that you get two complimentary tickets per game. So come anyway, but if you have friends, neighbors or extra family members that would like tickets, this affords everyone an opportunity to view the available seats in the Curb and to purchase your favorites on the spot.

Belmont Staff Member's Husband to Appear on '60 Minutes'
Army Staff Sgt. Jake Schlereth, husband of Belmont's Director of Advancement Services Margaret Schlereth, will be appearing on CBS' "60 Minutes" this Sunday. Check local listings for air times. Jake is an American soldier currently serving in Afghanistan and was nominated for a Bronze Star for the events that occurred on the day the interview discusses. For a preview, click here.

Belmont Is a Smoke-Free Campus
Belmont University is a smoke-free campus. All buildings are smoke-free. Smoking is only allowed in designated smoking areas. Click here to view a map of designated smoking areas. Fees are now being enforced for smoking outside of the designated areas ($25 for the first offense, $50 for the second offense and $100 for the third offense). The fourth offense involving a student will be referred to Student Affairs for disciplinary action. An employee's fourth offense will be referred to the employee's supervisor and the Office of Human Resources. Information on smoking cessation programs is available by contacting Belmont's Student Health Services or the Office of Human Resources.

CEMB Christian Showcase This Saturday
Please join us Saturday evening at 7 p.m. in the Curb Event Center for the Christian Showcase, featuring student performers Joshua Eric Wright, Blake Belford, Stephen Whitfield and Hana Wishy as well as Christian artist Todd Agnew. The Curb College is partnering with Soles 4 Souls and World Vision for this evening of entertainment.

Flu Vaccinations Begin Mon., Oct. 20
The flu vaccine will be available through the student health clinic beginning Mon., Oct. 20. The cost of the vaccine is $16 and is available only to students, faculty and staff. Questions? 460-5506. Clinic hours: Monday thru Friday 9 a.m.-3 p.m. No appointment necessary.
