IT'S ALL BELMONT TO ME - Belmont FYI Feature Profile of the Week

Walk the Talk

brown2-300.jpgThis week’s Belmont FYI feature profile of the week has been a part of the Belmont community for 11 years. Donna Brown was nominated for the fourth guiding principle – Walk the Talk – for her work as Associate Head Women’s Basketball Coach.

What Donna enjoys most about her job is her relationship with the players and their parents. “It’s truly a blessing watching these young ladies become young adults,” Donna said. “I’m most happy about them being effective and productive in society.”

For Donna, to walk the talk means saying what you mean and meaning what you say. “My role as a basketball coach is so important, but my role as a woman is even greater,” she said. “I pride myself on doing the right things and saying the right things.”

Donna also notes that her players come from different parts of the country with different social and economic backgrounds so how she talks to one player is totally different from another. “I think I walk the talk here at Belmont by being open, honest, helpful, personable and by doing and saying things that are pleasing in God’s sight.”
