IT'S ALL BELMONT TO ME - Belmont FYI Feature Profile of the Week

Take Responsibility and Follow Through

Jenny_Rushing.jpgThis week’s Belmont FYI feature profile of the week has been a part of the Belmont community for nearly three years. Jenny Rushing was nominated for the second guiding principle, "Take Responsibility and Follow Through," for her work as a Reference Librarian.

What Jenny enjoys most about her job is the opportunity to work with all types of Belmont students. "From freshmen to grad students, from every program and major, I get to meet them all,” Jenny said. “And every day is different. As a librarian you never know what you will be asked!”

For Jenny, to take responsibility and follow through means going the extra mile, no matter how much time it takes to help the student find the answer. “As a librarian I am asked a lot of questions,” Jenny says. “Whether it is technical, research related or ‘can I have some more paper for the printer,’ my role is to answer them all with a smile on my face!” Jenny also said that she has great support from all the faculty and staff, which in turn makes her want to do the best job she can.
