It's All Belmont To Me - Belmont FYI Feature Profile of the Week
Show We Care
This week’s Belmont FYI feature profile of the week has been at Belmont for nearly three years. Lamont Maxwell has been nominated for the first guiding principle, “Show We Care,” for his work as a Floor Technician in Custodial Services.
What Lamont enjoys most about his job is doing it well. “No matter what I’m doing, I try to do a good job,” says Maxwell, “and when I do a good job, I always say ‘To God be the glory.'"
For Lamont, to show he cares means ministering to students, faculty and staff. As an associate pastor at his church, Lamont considers himself blessed to have the opportunity to minister to others while at Belmont. “Just today,” Lamont said, “a student stopped by for a word of encouragement. When I have opportunities like those, I give God the glory.” Showing he cares also means ministering through his actions. “I am an instrument of God, and I enjoy doing His work,” said Lamont. “The Bible says, ‘Love each other as I have loved. Greater love has no one than this, that Jesus laid down his life for his friends.'”
