Show We Care
This week’s Belmont FYI feature profile of the week has been with Belmont for nearly a year. Edward Allen was nominated for the first guiding principle, “Show We Care,” for his work as Collections Supervisor in Student Financial Services.
What Edward enjoys most about his job are his fellow co-workers. “I am honored to work with a group of people that are caring, encouraging and fun to be around,” Edward said. “I have met some of the best people in my professional career right here at Belmont University.”
For Edward, to show he cares means every interaction he has with students, faculty or co-workers is a new opportunity to serve and demonstrate the commandment to "Love your neighbor as yourself." In his role at Belmont Edward has “come across students who at times are upset, anxious or desperate regarding their financial matters,” he said. “I always keep a positive attitude and give them time to discuss their situation in depth so I can have the complete picture. I strive to research the issue thoroughly and then communicate my response thoughtfully."
