Important Announcements Regarding Campus Construction/Remodeling

On Mon., Sept. 10, contractor R.C. Mathews will begin demolition work on the greenhouse and maintenance garage located behind Hail Hall, near the construction site for the new residence hall. All Belmont students, faculty and staff are asked to be cautious walking near this area. Also, starting Wed., Sept. 12, East Belmont Circle will be closed to thru traffic for vehicles and pedestrians due to the construction. The road, which will be closed from the south end of Pembroke Hall to the south end of the maintenance building, will only be closed to thru traffic as parking will still be available in the area next to the soccer field and behind the neighboring dorms. Access to the Curb garage is available via Bernard and 15th Avenue.

The lobby of Freeman Hall will undergo a significant remodeling this fall with work to begin on Tues., Sept. 11. Flooring, light fixtures, ceiling tiles, bathrooms and decorative moldings will be updated, and the grand staircase will be closed starting Sept. 12. The entire project is scheduled to be completed after Thanksgiving. Belmont Central and Admissions will remain open during renovations, and the lobby elevator will be available a majority of the time. Directional signs will be used to re-route traffic to either side of the building; however, students, faculty and staff are encouraged to avoid the Freeman lobby as a passage way during the renovation.
