Belmont Commuter Benefits: Music City Star Information Meeting
Belmont has partnered with MTA and RTA as the only Nashville university to offer free bus and train transportation to campus for students, faculty and staff. For those interested in utilizing the Music City Star rail system, there will soon be an additional shuttle stop to get train passengers from the downtown depot to campus! MTA will make this new route available for Belmont passengers beginning April 2. An information meeting will be held on Monday, March 26, at 10 a.m. in MBC 200B. At this meeting, a representative from RTA will be present to provide information and answer questions regarding train transportation, shuttle schedules and emergency rides home. If you are not able to attend the meeting, contact Alison McCommons at x6441 for more information.

“Social Justice and Rape Work: Has Feminism Failed Rape Victims?”
A Living Sociology Speaker Series Lecture
Sociologist Patricia Yancey Martin, nationally known for her research on gender and organizations, will discuss social justice and the treatment of rape. Martin, the Daisy Parker Flory professor of sociology at Florida State University, has written four books and more than 90 articles on gender and organizations. Her talk will be based on her most recent book, “Rape Work: Victims, Gender and Emotions in Organization and Community Context.”
