Songwriter Session: Bobby Hamrick
Bobby Hamrick, a senior communication studies major at Belmont University and a 2006 winner of a writers’ night competition will perform at the Country Music Hall of Fame, presented by the Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business and sponsored in part by ASCAP. Hamrick will perform original compositions, discuss the stories behind his songs, and describe his experiences as a student in this field. Included with museum admission. Free to members.

“God’s Will”
Will Campbell, friend and confidant of Martin Luther King Jr., author and champion of the Civil Rights Movement, will speak on racial reconciliation. Campbell was one of three men to help escort black students who integrated the Little Rock, Arkansas schools, a notable event of the Civil Rights Movement.

“Eleemosynary”
The play probes into the delicate relationship of three women: the strong-willed, eccentric grandmother, Dorothea; her brilliant daughter, Artie (Artemis), who has fled the stifling domination of her mother; and Artie’s daughter, Echo, a child of exceptional intellect—and sensitivity—whom Artie has abandoned to an upbringing by Dorothea. Belmont Juniors, Seniors, Grad Students and Alumni are invited to attend. Attendees may pick up their ticket from either the Career Services Office on the second floor of the Gabhart Student Center or the College of Business Career Development Center, MBC 215. The tickets are free and parking is free, but attendees must have a ticket to attend. This event is co-sponsored by the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce. You are invited to join the Belmont Weight Watchers group. The group meets each Wednesday at 12:30. Meetings are fun, informative, and very supportive. Presented by James Lawson, civil rights leader and “foremost non-violence theorist in the world,” as described by Martin Luther King, Jr. Lawson's non-violent efforts helped move forward civil rights in the city of Nashville. He was involved in the Freedom Ride in 1961 and the Meredith March in Mississippi in 1966.
