The Black Student Association asks for participation of faculty, staff and students in a canned food drive now through October 28. BSA will donate and shelve all goods collected for the Nashville Rescue Mission. Designated bins will be placed around campus for donors to place canned foods. On Saturday, October 28, Belmont students will "trick-or treat" for canned foods in the surrounding Belmont area from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to conclude the drive for goods. The designated boxes are located in Belmont Central, Massey Lobby, Curb Cafe and Beaman Life Center (across from What's Bruin). The boxes will remain in place through tuesday, October 31.
On Friday, October 27, the Beaman Student Life Center and the Belmont Softball Team offer "Parent’s Night Out" from 6-9 p.m. Bring your children ages 4-12 to the Beaman Student Life Center for games, activities, food, a climb up our wall and snacks. E-mail me the name and age of the participating child to montielm@mail.belmont.edu . This is a free event so take advantage of your Friday night and leave the babysitting up to us!
The Percussion Ensemble will perform Saturday, October 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Massey Concert Hall.
The Classical Singer Recital is Sunday, October 29 at 2:30 p.m. in Massey Concert Hall.
All CEMB students, faculty and staff are invited to attend a Halloween Hoo-Ha (Party) October 30 from 6:30-10 p.m. in the Neely Dining Hall. $5 cover charge and live music (80's Band & DJ). Produced by MBU 4830 Concert promotions.
The Staff Chili Cook-off is Tuesday, October 31 at 11:30 in the Neely/ Black and White Dining Hall. There will be prizes for best Chili (Regular and HOT) and for best costume, group and individual. Prizes include gift certificate to William Sonoma and Target. Bring Some crackers, fritos or a dessert to share. The Graduate Chamber Ensemble will perform Tuesday, October 31 at 7:30 p.m. in Harton Recital Hall.
Acclaimed jazz vocalist Paula Chavis will perform at the second "Jazz at Belmont Mansion" series on Saturday, November 11, from 7-9 p.m.
Dr. Joel Treybig, trumpet, and Dr. Carolyn Treybig, flute, will present a classical Faculty Concert on Monday, November 27 at 7:30 p.m. at Belmont Heights Baptist Church. Guest Andrew Peters will be the organist.
Belmont’s Opera Theatre Department will present Mozart’s The Magic Flute, the tale of a prince and his companion battling evil forces to rescue a princess.

New Century Journalism Program Lecture presents “The Future of Newspapers” with Ellen Leifeld of The Tennessean on Monday, November 6, at 10 a.m. in the Massey Boardroom.
On Tuesday, November 6, at 10 a.m. "The Food Dude," Chef Kevin Roberts will be in the Belmont Cafeteria. Roberts has been featured on ESPN.
The Bluegrass and Southbound Ensembles will berform in the Curb Cafe on Thursday, November 9, at 6:30 p.m.
The Vaughn Science Lecture presents "Bird Flu on the Wing" a lecture by Dr. William Shaffner on Thursday, November 9, at 7 p.m. in Beaman Student Life Center Meeting Rooms A & B.
A Living Sociology Speaker Series Lecture presents "Non-Violent Struggles and Social Movements" by Reverend James Lawson in the Multi-Media Hall of Bunch Library on Friday, November 10, at 10 a.m.
The Country Music Showcase is Saturday, November 11, at 7 p.m. in the Curb Event Center.
The Belmont Little Theatre presents "A Children's Hour" by Lillian Hellman.
