School of Music alumnus Josh Turner will be performing with Randy Travis on CMT's Cross Country tonight, August 11, at 9 pm.
School of Music alumna Laura Rosser will be featured on ABC Primetime on August 16, at 9 p.m. Laura has a condition known as synesthesia which will be featured on Primetime: Medical Mysteries. She hopes her Belmont family will watch the show.
The Nashville Youth Choir announces its 2006-2007 Season. The Youth Choir is a part of the Nashville Children's Choir Program, one of numerous programs of the Belmont Academy, the preparatory division of Belmont's School of Music. Nashville Youth Choir membership is open, by audition, to students in 9-12 for the 2006-2007 school year. Tuition for the season, which runs from August to May, is $250, with tuition discounts available for families with multiple children participating in the Nashville Choir Program. Each semester includes approximately 13 Monday afternoon rehearsals from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m., held in the Massey Performing Arts Center on the Belmont University campus. Auditions for the Nashville Youth Choir will be held by appointment, and immediately preceding the first regular rehearsal Monday, August 21. Sociology professor Andi Stepnick would like to ask the Belmont community to participate in a Bone Marrow Drive, Silent Auction and Bake Sale to raise medical funds for a local eighteen-year-old in need. A 2006 graduate of Sycamore High School in Joelton, he is at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and in need of a bone marrow transplant. The event will take place Saturday, August 26 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at New Hope Free Will Baptist Church in Joelton, Tenn. Contact Andi for more information at stepnicka@mail.belmont.edu.
