The New Century Journalism Speakers' Series presents Neal Scarbrough, ESPN, on Monday, February 13 at 10 a.m. in the Bunch Library Multimedia Hall, 2nd Floor.

CSI: Then and Now, Monday, February 13, from 7 - 9 p.m. Come experience the development of crime scene investigation as seen on TV! We will be watching an episode of Quincy, one of the original forensic programs, and CSI, the popular modern version. Afterwards, Dr. Moore (Chemistry & Physics) will provide a retrospective comparison.

Environmental Studies presents a book signing and talk from Pulitzer Prize-nominated author Scott Weidensaul, Wednesday, February 15, in Beaman A&B, the Beaman Meeting Room Lobby, and the Atrium West Lobby. There will be a book signing from 6:00-6:45 p.m., with the talk scheduled from 7:00-8:00 p.m. A reception will follow the event. Scott Weidensaul is the author of more than two dozen books on natural history, including the Pulitzer Prize-nominated Living on the Wind, about migratory birds, and his latest work, Return to Wild America: A Yearlong Search for the Continent's Natural Soul.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Violent Crime Response Team Dan Royse, a TBI Special Agent Forensic Scientist, will discuss the life of a real forensic scientist on Wednesday, February 15 at 10 a.m. in HSB 408.

The Faculty Woodwind and Brass Quintets will perform Wednesday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m. in Massey Concert Hall.

The Belmont Orchestra will perform Thursday, February 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Massey Concert Hall.

The Department of Theatre presents I Hate Hamlet by Paul Rudnick. Show times are as follows:

CSI Belmont: WHO DUNNIT? - Friday, February 17 at 10 a.m. in HSB 408. Tragedy strikes the Belmont campus! Someone has attacked a prominent member of the Belmont community and it's up to YOU to figure out who's to blame. Join a team of chemistry majors and professors at the crime scene to examine the evidence and analyze the suspects. You'll feel like you just stepped into an episode of CSI!

Faculty Vocalists Bruce Bennett, Henry Small and James Wiggington of the Commercial Music Program will perform on Monday, February 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Massey Concert Hall.

The Student Composers’ Recital is Tuesday, February 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Massey Concert Hall.

The third annual Liberal Arts and Liberal Learning Convocation Series, sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences, is Feb. 27 through March 1. Vanderbilt Professor Paul H. Edelman will deliver the keynote address titled, “The Promise and Prospect of Math Literacy,” on Feb. 27 at 5:30 p.m. in Beaman Conference Room A & B. A reception will follow. A pizza and movie night will feature the movie “October Sky” on Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. in Massey Business Center 200B. After viewing the film, Belmont faculty will lead the discussion on the value of a liberal arts education in a science context. Dr. Edelman, professor of mathematics and law at Vanderbilt, will talk to the faculty about “Analytical Thinking: Connecting the Disciplines” at a Teaching Center luncheon on March 1 at noon in the Massey Board Room. Finally, a panel of Belmont alumni will talk about how a liberal arts education benefited their careers on March 1 at 10 a.m. in MBC 100.

The Wind Ensemble will perform Tuesday, February 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Massey Concert Hall.
