Congratulations to Patsy Peach on the birth of her twin granddaughters, Peyton and Dylan, on Friday, January 27.
Jason Chandler has been named the new Senior Director of Development for Belmont University. Jason has been Director of Development for the Department of Medicine, Robert Woodruff Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine at Emory University in Atlanta. The Department of Medicine is the largest department in the School of Medicine with over 500 faculty. He has successfully secured major gifts, planned gifts, memorial gifts, endowed scholarships, endowed chairs and professorships, as well as major corporation and foundation support during his tenure there. Jason will be joining us in late February.
Dr. Steve Murphree (Biology Dept.) is in his 10th year of conducting termite control enhancement studies using the Sentricon Termite Colony Elimination System® developed by Dow AgroSciences. If you have experienced an emergence of winged termites or found evidence of an active infestation at your home and have not yet contracted with a pest control business to control them, your home might qualify for the 2006 study. This service would be free during the 1-2 year study (termite colonies would be eliminated) and participants could then decide whether to transfer future monitoring to a local pest control business or have Steve remove the stations. If you are interested or need more information, contact Steve at murphrees@mail.belmont.edu or ext. 6221.
