In Our Thoughts


Please keep the family and friends of Lauren McCathren in your thoughts and prayers. Lauren, a Sociology and Spanish major, passed away October 11. Belmont will hold a memorial service for Lauren on Monday, October 24 at 10:00 a.m. in the Kitty B. West Amphitheatre near the Bell Tower. The McCathren family will be in attendance at this service led by Dr. Robert C. Fisher, the Belmont Chorale, and students, staff and faculty who were friends of Lauren. Her pastor, Rev. Becca Stevens of St. Augustine's Chapel in Nashville, will deliver the eulogy celebrating Lauren's life, mourning her death, and looking in hope to the life to come. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lauren McCathren Memorial Fund, St. Augustine's Chapel, P.O. Box 6330-B, Nashville, TN 37235 for the establishment of a new student bible study center in her memory.
