FYI and Miscellaneous Announcements
The Nashville Chamber Orchestra would like to offer a special discount for Belmont faculty, staff and students for their "Harmonica and Strings" concerts. The November 19 concert is at the Factory in Franklin and the November 20 show is at the War Memorial.
Nashville Children's Theatre will offer a special ticket discount to all Belmont employees and students. For each child's ticket that is purchased, you will receive a second child's ticket to the same performance free of charge. The GMA Academy will be February 11 – 12, and is a “training camp” for beginning and advanced unsigned artists and songwriters. The event will provide valuable feedback and instruction from veterans in the industry. GMA will also offer an unsigned writer’s night at the Curb Café on December 9. Performers will be selected from winners of past GMA Music in the Rockies and GMA Academy events to participate in this unique showcase. Additionally, participants who utilize GMA’s all new Songwriter Critique Service are invited to take part in this event. There is still time to submit your songs through the critique service for consideration for the Dec. 9 event. Another writer’s night is tentatively planned for Feb. 10, preceding the GMA Academy Regional event February 11-12 in Nashville. The Bruin Club is putting together a bus trip to Knoxville for when the men's basketball team takes on UT on December 20. The trip cost is $40 and includes transportation to and from the game, a boxed meal, and a ticket to the game! Spots are reserved on a first come first serve basis! The Corporate University Consortium is a leadership certificate program designed to develop the high potential prospective leaders in organizations. Over a nine to twelve month period participants will meet monthly for structured learning, to develop relationships with participants from other Middle Tennessee companies, and to increase their depth of understanding of their roles as leaders in their organizations.
