Important Announcements
As we enter this election season, all members of the Belmont community are encouraged to be informed and engaged participants in our democratic system. If you choose to engage in political activity, please observe the following guidelines:
- Federal law prohibits Belmont University from endorsing any political candidate or political party. Therefore, do not use any university resource such as university facilities, website, office equipment, or stationery for partisan political activity.
- Belmont personnel who speak or write in support of or opposition to a particular political candidate or party should clearly indicate that their comments are personal and are not intended to represent the views of Belmont University.
- It is permissible for the university to sponsor debates or forums to educate voters so long as the debate or forum does not show a preference for or against a certain candidate.
