Coming Up

There were many who attended the recent convo on Darfur, Sudan, who wanted to know, “What’s next?” We have informed ourselves on the issue, protested the ongoing genocide, written letters and signed petitions. Now seems like the right time to focus on praying and fasting for the tens of thousands of victims of the massacres in Darfur, as well as for the hundreds of thousands in the refugee camps. On Monday, May 2, we will gather at 10:00 a.m. at University Ministries, where pastors from Sudan will lead us in prayer for the people in their homeland. We will have petitions available, as well as information on letter writing, but the focus of our time together will not be on taking action ourselves, but on appealing to God to do what we cannot do: change the hearts and lives and futures of the oppressed people of Sudan.
Feel free to bring a psalm or hymn or passage of scripture to share as we pray together this coming Monday. Students can receive faith development convo.
