Massey students invited to exclusive career fair
Massey students are invited to attend a career fair that's limited to a select number of Nashville-area universities. Recruiters from more than 150 employers will be present at the fair, which is Tuesday, February 12 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Williamson County Agricultural Exposition Park.
The event is free, but you'll have to buy tickets in advance. To request a ticket, email hiremassey@belmont.edu.
Third Thursday: Making connections
Networking is not just for job seekers -- it’s a skill that needs to be developed and nurtured for life. However, few people take the time to network and most don’t know how to network effectively.
Join the Career Development Center Thursday, Feb. 21 from 5 p.m. - 6 p.m. in Massey Business Center Room 413 to learn how to take your networking skills to the next level. Human resources expert Dan Aronoff will lead the discussion.
In this session we will:
-Discuss networking best practices
-Take the fear out of networking
-Develop a simple action plan

More on the speaker: Dan Aronoff has over 20 years of business experience working for both small and large companies, most notably in the human resources arena. He had the opportunity to work with Exxon Corporation, Kraft Foods, Kendle International (a pharmaceutical clinical trials organization) and his family’s business, Goldner Associates, which is an advertising specialties company. In 2005 he fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming an entrepreneur by buying the Tennessee territory of FranNet-The Franchise Connection, a franchise matchmaking service. Dan taught Franchise Management to students in the School of Entrepreneurship at Belmont University in the Fall of 2011. Since 2006, he has also facilitated the Transition Café, a networking event for senior level professionals and executives in career transition.
Dan graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Indiana University and earned a Masters degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois.

With over 25 years combined experience in recruiting, career counseling, career transition, and coaching, Lacy has had the opportunity to work with a variety of clients at all levels and in diverse industries. She coaches individuals and organizations in a range of career issues including resume/bio development, career assessments, strategic career planning, job search, interviewing, networking, and negotiation skills. Additionally, she works with organizations in developing new leaders, strengthening management teams, and transitioning employees out of the organization.

October power lunch: Aegis Sciences Corporation
Massey students, join us October 30th for this month's power lunch, when we visit Aegis Sciences Corporation. Aegis is a forensic chemical and drug-testing laboratory specializing in drug testing for businesses, professional and amateur sports drug testing, pain management physicians, and medical examiners.

MACC students and alumni, mark your calendars for Fall 2012 recruiting! Here are the key dates and deadlines for students and alumni wishing to participate in the Fall accounting recruiting process:
1) Resumes for the accounting resume book are due Wednesday, August 15th for existing students and should be emailed to Lori LeBleu (lori.lebleu@belmont.edu) in a Word document for approval.
2) A mandatory meeting for all students planning to participate in on-campus recruiting is Tuesday August 28th at 5:15 – 6:00pm or Wednesday August 29th at 10:00 am - in MBC 100. We will review the policies and process.
3) Meet the Firms event: Wednesday September 5th from 4:30- 6:30 p.m. in the Neely Dining Hall.
4) Campus interviews begin Monday September 17th. A complete calendar will be distributed at the August 28th-29th meetings.
