This event is the Tennessee region's premiere green event to promote sustainability in building, energy, transportation, home, office, waste elimination, and the environment. It is held at Lipscomb University and volunteers can attend the keynote address by Gary Hirshberg, President and CEO of Stonyfield Farms. Volunteers are needed to serve as ushers, ticket collectors, greeters, and exhibit supervision.

Crankin09logo.jpgPurity Miss Martha's Ice Cream Crankin' will be held Sunday June 14 and is the signature fund raiser for the Martha O’bryan Center. The Martha O'Bryan Center empowers children, youth, and adults in poverty to transform their lives through work, education, employment and fellowship. Massey student volunteers for this event are needed for two hours to help with set-up, ticket sales, serving ice-cream, parking, and other support functions for the event.

The Ronald McDonald house offers lodging and support for families whose seriously ill children are receiving treatment locally. It provides families a way to stay together, in proximity to the treatment hospital caring for their children. Breakfast, lunch, and dinners are provided at the House by volunteers. About 10-15 Massey student volunteers are needed for this event to supply burgers and “grill skill” for an outdoor barbeque lunch.

habitat2.jpgMassey and volunteers from CAT Financial, lead by Massey Alum, Aaron Murdock, are teaming up once again to build for Habitat for Humanity. We will be working on day 3 of the typical 8-day build process and will install siding, soffits, and other fixtures in and outside our assigned house. This is a fun day to trade in your desk job for a hammer and tool-belt, and to work hand in hand with people in need to help provide an environment for positive change.
