Massey Grad Council Fall Report

Sep 11, 2017 | Massey Grad Council

Over the summer the Massey Graduate Council was busy planning a multitude of fall activities. Late in September students, alumni, and faculty are invited to participate in the Massey Graduate Program golf scramble.  Participants can pick their teams, and enjoy a Friday afternoon outdoors at Two Rivers Golf Course.  Tee time is September 29th at 1:30.

As always the graduate council continues to partner with local companies for the Power Lunch Program. The lunches allow students to learn more about what companies are looking for in candidates and what skills are needed most in the job market.  The first lunch this fall will be with Cumberland Trust.

Other events students are looking forward to a Negotiation’s Workshop with Dr. Warren and an Excel Workshop with Dr. Garrison.  These two events are great ways for students to sharpen their skills in each subject.  Dates and times will be announced in the coming weeks.

Giving back is also a strong focus for the graduate council.  Arrangements are being made to partner with a local company to participate in a Habitat Build.   Other need based events will be occurring this fall so watch for announcements soon.

The Massey Graduate Council works hard to bring events and programs to students throughout the year.  To make sure students’ interests are met a student survey is conducted at the beginning of the semester.  From that information, the council tackles the tasks of creating worthwhile experiences for students.  It is important that needs of those being represented are met.
