Although online training is not the best method of training in my view we should understand that online sources are the the "norm of the day".

Asynchronous Online training can very good for generic material (company policies), though it tends to be treated with less rigour than a live body would.

Synchronous online training has the advantage of reducing upfront costs, but I would be interested in seeing the difference in remedial work between that and in-person training.
