At approximately 4:30 a.m. this morning, Friday, September 11, 2009, a residential student reported an intruder inside an apartment at Bruin Hills. Belmont Campus Security, Metro Police and Residence Life staff responded. The intruder fled and remains at large. No one was injured, and no personal items were taken in the incident.

The preliminary investigation shows that the intruder gained access through an unlocked door. The suspect is described as a slender built, young adult male with a dark complexion. Campus Security is increasing patrols in the area and working with Metro Police to actively pursue all leads. Report any suspicious activities or persons to Campus Security (460-6617) or contact your Resident Assistant (RA) or Resident Director (RD).

As safety reminders: When in your residences, keep your doors and windows locked. Always be aware of your surroundings.
