Volunteer for 2009 Opening Day!
We invite faculty, staff, students and the Nashville community to join us for Opening Day on August 22, 2009 to welcome the class of 2013. This is an important day in the lives of our new Bruins, and we want you to be a part! There are three shifts and a variety of roles to help with the excitement of New Student Orientation and Move-In.
Volunteer Shifts
7:45 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
10:15 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
12:45 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
On the registration form, you will have the option of choosing from a single or double shift. Please feel free to choose which time of day is most suitable to your schedule, but know that we ask you to be present for the entire duration of the shift to which you are assigned. Roles
The Office of Residence Life and Towering Traditions New Student Orientation have created a variety of opportunities for our Opening Day volunteers to serve. We need plenty of volunteers to move our new students into the residence halls while giving them a warm smile and a "Welcome to Belmont!” We understand, however, that not everybody wants to or can move boxes.
If you need any special accommodations or considerations, please let us know. We need volunteers to help greet new families both inside residence halls and outside at our entry points. There are even opportunities to simply walk around answering questions of students and families or monitoring the water stations.
Any help you can give on this important day will go a long way!
If you need any further information, please contact Kristine Neeley, director of new student & parent programs, at kristine.neeley@belmont.edu or 615-460-8532.
