A number of incidents have been reported recently to Metro Police of a man groping female joggers and walkers in the Belmont Boulevard area, though none have been reported on Belmont University's campus. Most of these incidents have occurred in the early morning hours, between 5:30 and 6 a.m. According to police, the suspect is reported as Hispanic, approximately 5'6" and in his mid-20s. Police said the man has been seen in a white, four-door car - possibly a Toyota - with dark, tinted windows.

• Use the buddy system. Walk in a group instead of alone.
• Call for a security escort, especially at night.
• Always be aware of your surroundings.
• Avoid walking in alleyways.
• Lock your vehicle immediately after entering.
• Do not loiter inside your vehicle.
