Provost Candidate Sessions with Students

The Provost Search Committee has been hard at work this summer reviewing the credentials of 61 applicants and conducting numerous telephone interviews. From this group, the committee has selected five candidates to visit campus and meet with faculty, staff and students in the coming weeks. Please make an effort to meet each candidate by attending the sessions and give your evaluation of the candidates using the resources that will be provided by the search committee.

Campus Alert

A number of incidents have been reported recently to Metro Police of a man groping female joggers and walkers in the Belmont Boulevard area, though none have been reported on Belmont University's campus. Most of these incidents have occurred in the early morning hours, between 5:30 and 6 a.m. According to police, the suspect is reported as Hispanic, approximately 5'6" and in his mid-20s. Police said the man has been seen in a white, four-door car - possibly a Toyota - with dark, tinted windows.

Please Remember
• Use the buddy system. Walk in a group instead of alone.
• Call for a security escort, especially at night.
• Always be aware of your surroundings.
• Avoid walking in alleyways.
• Lock your vehicle immediately after entering.
• Do not loiter inside your vehicle.

Attention Law School Prospects

Kaplan's is offering a free Law School Insider Seminar in Nashville on Aug. 4 at 5 p.m. at The Nashville Kaplan Center. Kaplan's Law School Insider Seminar is designed to give prospective law school students insight into to the admissions process and the law school experience.

Each seminar begins with a one-hour panel discussion featuring a mix of admissions officers and alumni from a variety of law schools. Admissions officers will discuss admissions trends and tips for applicants; current law students will offer advice and insight given their experience. Topics will include school selection, the admissions process, crafting a stellar application, preparing for the entrance exam and succeeding in the first year. The Panel Discussion will end with a Question & Answer session.

Discounted tickets are now available for Belmont students, faculty and staff to attend the Toyota Tundra 200 Nascar Camping World Truck Series Race at the Nashville Superspeedway on Sat., Aug. 1. Tickets to this event are available for $24.75 per person and include a drink and hot dog voucher.
