Alumni Association Becomes Official Donation Site for 'Cell Phones for Soldiers'
As part of Belmont's "Going Green" iniatitive, Cell Phones for Soldiers and the Alumni Association are calling on you to support the brave men and women of our armed forces by donating your unused cell phones. Donated phones are sent to ReCellular, which pays Cell Phones for Soldiers for each phone, enough to provide one hour of talk time to soldiers abroad. Approximately half of the phones ReCellular processes are reconditioned and resold to wholesale companies in over 40 countries around the world. Phones and components that cannot be refurbished are dismantled and recycled to reclaim materials. Local residents and the campus community can support the cause by dropping their phones by the Office of Alumni Relations, Fidelity 104, on Belmont’s campus between the hours of 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
