Belmont security received a call late last night (Mon., Jan. 21) from a student who reported seeing men she thought were armed in the parking garage behind Thrailkill Hall. Campus Security and Metro Police responded immediately and searched the area. No evidence of suspicious men or of any security breach was found. After a second 911 call (referencing the initial sighting), Metro Police and Campus Security conducted a room-by-room search of Thrailkill Hall. They found no evidence of any suspicious persons or any unauthorized intrusion into the residence hall. Because Campus Security and Metro Police found no evidence of suspicious persons or any breach in security, a campus wide security alert was not initiated.
