It's that time of year...BOULDERDASH is back! This year will be our ninth annual Boulderdash climbing competition, and registration is now open!
Boulderdash will be held on Saturday, February 25 from noon to 4pm at the Beaman Center climbing wall, and is open to Belmont students and faculty/staff of all climbing skill and interest levels. Scoring will be based on skill level and divided into both men’s and women’s competitions. Both bouldering routes and top rope routes will be included.
Registration is $8 ($10 day-of), and includes free food during the event. We’ll be raffling off lots of swag donated by our sponsors Petzl, Trango, The Crag at Cool Springs and Cumberland Transit. Trophies will also be awarded to the winners from each division.

OP Presents Kidz Klimb Competition 2012
Register now for Kidz Klimb Competition 2012!
Attention Belmont faculty and staff!
You and your kids are invited to join Belmont Outdoor Pursuits four our annual Kidz Klimb Competition on January 14, 2012 at 1pm at the Beaman climbing wall. This event will be an extension of our Kidz Klimb program, and will gather all of the participants together at one time to meet each other, win some fun door prizes, eat pizza, and of course, climb!
The event will start at 1pm and end at 4:30pm, with two separate climbing times available for participants. After the competition, all participants are invited to attend as the Belmont women's and men's basketball teams take on Stetson University in the Curb Event Center. As an extra reward for participating, Belmont Athletics will give all the participants a voucher for Kids Zone seating, which includes a 24-oz fountain drink and popcorn from the concession stand. The participants will also be recognized and announced during the games.
Staff members will be allotted the usual two free tickets for the basketball gamesand will also be allowed to purchase additional tickets for $1 each.
The cost for the event is $8 per participant, and as always climbing equipment is free. Kids who wish to climb must have a parent's signature currently on file at the climbing wall. The liability form can be found via the link below.
To register, please fill out the form that can be found below. Please return the form and the registration fee for all participants to the Beaman desk. Cash or check only accepted. The deadline for pre-registration is Wednesday, January 11. Day-of registration will also be available.

If you're looking to for your outdoor fix in October, here's what we have coming up in Outdoor Pursuits!
Outdoor Climbing trip, King's Bluff, October 8: We'll be taking a day trip up to Clarksville to do some outdoor climbing at King's Bluff! This is a great learning opportunity for new climbers, as well as an opportunity for experienced outdoor climbers to hone their skills. This trip is FREE! If you're interested, talk to the OP workers for more info and grab a registration form from the Beaman desk!
Fall Break Backpacking, Smoky Mountains, October 15-18: No plans for fall break, or looking for a good time? Come to the Smokies with us! We'll be backpacking around the national park and hiking sections of the Appalachian Trail. Trip fee is $65, and covers food, transportation, camping fees, everything. Again, for more info talk to the OP staff and see the desk for the registration forms!
