Summer 2013 Group Fitness Schedule

The summer is almost here along with our summer group fitness classes.  The classes are being offered on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with the early morning classes being held twice per week and noon & evening classes three times a week.  Back by popular demand are Spin, Zumba, Pilates, Yoga, Total Body, and more.  To review the actual Summer 2013 Group Fitness Schedule click here .  We are excited to welcome you back!

Group Fitness Exam Exercise

Students, Faculty, and Staff,

Take a break from studying for your exams or get away from your office and join us for the exam exercise April 25th - April 30th.  Choose one of your favorite classes such as Pilates, Zumba, Spin, Cardio Sculpt, or Yoga.  As always, don’t forget a bottle of water and your friends.

2nd Half Spring 2013 Group Fitness Schedule

Belmont Community,

The 2nd half of the spring 2013 semester is here with plenty of group fitness classes to choose from.  All your favorite classes such as Zumba, Pilates, Spin, Yoga, and Cardio Dance are back as well as some new additions: Express Kickboxing, Circuit Training, and Bruin Conditioning.  Try our new classes and don’t forget to bring your friends, a water bottle, and a towel.

Beaman Trainer I Preparation Course

  • Do you like to motivate people to accomplish their fitness goals?
  • Do you enjoy physical activity and believe that it is important?
  • Do you want to impact lives of others through personal training?

If you answered yes to all of these questions, you have a unique opportunity to work as a personal trainer for the Belmont’s Department of Fitness and Recreation!

Apply today for Beaman Trainer I Prep Course and upon successful completion of the weekend long training you will become a Beaman Trainer.

 When: Saturday, February 16th, 9am-5pm

Sunday, February 17th, 1pm-5pm

Where: Fish Bowl Conference Room in the Beaman Center

Group Fitness Room in the Beaman Center

What:  1st day – Theoretical knowledge --> presentations and discussions

2nd day – Practice assessment --> exercises, quizzes

Who can apply:  Any Belmont student who is currently enrolled

Applications are due by Wednesday, February 13th.

If you are chosen for the weekend course, you will be notified by Friday February, 15th.

Polar Bear 5K Fun Run

The Department of Fitness and Recreation is proud to announce the 7th annual Polar Bear 5K Fun Run as part of Belmont University’s homecoming week.   The purpose of the 5K is to bring Belmont’s community of students, faculty, and staff together to engage in a healthy fitness activity.  The run is scheduled for Friday, February 1st at 6:30am and will take participants through the beautiful and historic Belmont /Hillsboro neighborhood.  Last year’s event was a huge success with over 150 runners/walkers participating so we need YOU this year to show your school spirit once again.  Remember, this is not a race, this is a fun run; therefore, everyone can participate so grab your friends and sign up today.  We are looking forward seeing you on February 1st bright and early.

1st Half Spring 2013 Group Fitness Schedule

Are you ready to accomplish your 2013 fitness resolutions? Fall 2012 Exam Exercise Schedule

 

Come join us December 5th thru December 11th for our exam exercise classes! Classes will include Pilates, Turbokick, Zumba, Spin, Cardio Sculpt, Step Interval and Restorative Yoga. All the classes during exams will take place at 12pm and 5pm on each exam day. So take a break from studying, grab some friends and come to play with a purpose at the Beaman!

Halloween 5K Fun Run

The Halloween 5k fun run is a great way to celebrate the holiday with the Belmont community.  Come dressed up in your best Halloween costume for awesome prizes and a good time!  You do not have to be an experienced runner to participate, all levels are welcomed!  The run will start and end at the fountain between the Curb Café and the Belmont cafeteria.  The route will go down Belmont Boulevard to 15th Avenue South and finish with a loop around campus that goes through Wedgewood and Magnolia Boulevard. The run will be held on Tuesday, October 30th at 5:00 pm. Registration will begin at 4:30 pm in the West Lobby of the Beaman Center.
