December 1st Deadline is past and wow! did you guys submit a LOT of applications
Congratulations to all of you who submitted your application for admission for the fall 2009 term by the December 1 priority date. In fact, literally HUNDREDS of you decided to do that at the last minute--just in time to meet the deadline! We want you to know that if it was postmarked by December 1--you don't need to worry, we'll get it processed in the order we received it.
WOW--we received nearly 1000 applications on line and by mail last week, along with supporting documents. Keep checking your BU4U accounts and you can see your application materials show up as they are posted. It is taking us about a week to get through the mail and get all the items posted, so we still have about 500 applications and documents to process. We'll also be contacting you by mail and e-mail with missing items needed, so keep an eye on your e-mail accounts.
I hope you are logging in to BU4U to keep up with all the fun and interesting things posted there. I love the recent addition of the blasting for the new health sciences building. The Bruin Blogs have been really interesting lately and the surveys have been fun but also helpful to us to know what's on your mind. About 60 percent of our applicants are logging in regularly. We hope to continue increasing the usefulness of BU4U so don't hesitate to give us feedback about what you'd like to see.
I plan to update this blog more regularly now that we have more functions that we need to tell you. Coming up soon, applicants will be getting invitations to Academic Options, music auditions will be coming up for many of you, and scholarship information will begin going out in mid-February. Don't forget to file your FAFSA as soon after the first of the year as feasible.
